I was hired by a startup in Los Angeles to work on a social events application targeted at college students. In the beginning, the app was meant to allow students to create instant “Study groups”, but as I worked with the founders we managed to pivot and find a more exciting direction regarding Social Events. This team is still developing the product, so I cannot share as much into the process but I can talk about the overall designs and the impact that I had throughout the process.

Goal.
The goal was to create a simple application that would allow students to create/find events happening around them.
My Role.
Design a simple iOS application with a playful design catered for the college student demographic.

Process.
The goal was to have a MVP within a month, so I had to move quickly. After conducting extensive research, I moved on to working on high-fidelity mockups to start putting together a prototype.
Strategy.
Get as close to a real product experience as soon as possible. Once we had a solid prototype, we could focus on iterating through features and test it with potential users.

Results.
We arrived to a simple solution that gave “events” apps a different look. I am particularly happy with the UI/UX because my intention was to create a design with personality and friendly vs. the professional and more official style that dominates that space today.

Disclosure.
The vast majority of my work is IP protected and I can only show small amounts of my designs. In case you are interested in learning more about my work please reach out to me via email and I can walk you through the details of the process.
